Oh yes
Finally got my 1911. I know a lot of you watching me will be like "OMG you evil evil gun owner, how dare you own a handgun, you're evil." Well too bad, I've got one and here it is, brand new out of the box. It even has a lanyard loop XD

EDIT: Re-uploaded a better picture, the other was blurry.

im not a huge handgun fan but i do like shotguns mainly cuz you can basically shoot anything you want from them if you have an empty 12 gauge shell XD my favorite has to be the Mossberg 500 cruiser http://www.nazarian.no/images/wep/1.....%20cruiser.jpg im normally a gun control activist but man, thats a sexy weapon XD
nice! XD but oh god shotgun slugs are NASTY! XD like getting hit with a mini cannon ball XD ive always wondered what would happen if somebody made a shot gun slug out of solid steel, i bet that would be pretty close to armor piercing if it was pointed enough XD
These are pretty much a mini-cannonball. The thing I don't like about many of the available shotgun slugs is that they're more like a shuttlecock than a ball, so that they can squeeze down the bore, through chokes, and stay stable in flight. This makes them very fragile, and they deform pretty easily. Once, when we were at the range, we found a slug that was lodged in a 2" thick green stick, and it had gone donut-shaped. A solid ball will tend to be more resistant to deformation (especially after they're dropped right from the mold and into water to harden up the alloy!) and they're easy to cast and load.
Yeah, I really like the grips, they aren't historical at all, but I like to imagine if mounted cavalry had continued to be relevant they might have gotten grips like that. Actually I feel like getting some ww2 rubber grips to keep on this thing just so I don't mess up the nice wood ones :P
I like the park'd look, and I even like the look of good even use wear. Mostly I just want to avoid the idiot scratches like the one on the takedown pin. And yeah I prefer blued too but the colt repros were out of my price range. I've got the whole rest of my life to find one though so it's not a huge deal XP
Good grab, for that price!
Trick for the park: disassemble, wipe the whole thing with a relatively thick coat of gun oil, let sit overnight, wipe off excess.
Parkerizing soaks up oil, and doing that slows the wear and you'll probably never have to worry about corrosion.
Even when it does wear, a 1911 with good honest wear is the best looking thing that doesn't involve brass and leather.

Wow, I was just reading a little bit about your gun laws. 81% tax on new firearms is insane. And .38 is a very strange cap to put on caliber. Although if you ever do find yourself with the ability to get one I believe they do sell this gun in .38acp (if that's legal). Also, who knows, maybe the laws will become less insane some day.
