Dumb question from an amateur birder: What's a threat dance? I mean, I've seen owls clack their beaks, hiss, sway their heads, and puff up when they're threatened, but I've never heard of one dancing.

Oh, and this goes without saying, but...you take the most amazing photographs.

Barn Owls will put there wings out as shown and sway back and forth, they'll also put there heads down looking at the ground and shake them. Quite often they'll hiss and scream while doing it as well.

I tried finding a video of it but nothing comes close to what I've seen REAL wild Barn Owls do.

I also appreciate the compliment. I spend the short amounts of free time I have at work taking pictures. I take HUNDREDS of them but only post what I think looks alright.
