bark was a retroactive explanation after i read of some sun-blocking measures made with ground-up plant bark. Not many plants but SOME of them supposedly can regenerate bark and so i imagined that MAYBE the plantoids can have bark grow if they want it to and then can scrape it off if they choose to. or a worse thought, it grows on them constantly and they endlessly rescrape it off just to appear clean-"shaven," which must be of especial annoyance if they never cover their legs. Or MAYBE they just grow bark on their backs. There is too much to think about for such a dumb picture!
