NOW PRESENTING: ASHEN KOBOLD!
It's been a long time coming but I'd like to introduce you all to the winner of the YCH auction for The Donut! They are just the cutest~
This model is A BIG DEAL. Not even sugar coating it. This model was to be the first big test for my workflow. And I have exciting news! IT WORKED! After carefully constructing the model, I was able to insert them directly into The Donut animation which I've already completed with Jax as a stand-in. Some adjustments had to be made for some of the proportion differences but by and large ended up with 90% of the hard work finished. The animation is currently being rendered and should be ready for release on the 15th!
What does this mean for you?
I will be able to more comfortably offer YCH opportunities more often in the future! The plan is to make the animation with my own characters first. Then after it goes public, should it meet certain pre-requisites, I'll open YCH opportunities. I haven't decided on bidding or flat rate slots yet. Might do both for different reasons.
Why do it this way?
Taking commissions is REALLY incredibly stressful for me. (This one was no different, tbh). This allows me to focus on the animation first and make something enjoyable to my viewers. Then I can open things up for YOUR character to be involved! And you have the benefit of knowing what you're getting!
Animation is usually really expensive to commission. Using this method, I can keep costs down for you by having the animation portion already finished. And once you get your character made, future YCH opportunities will be even MORE affordable since I won't have to make your character again.
If you still can't afford the custom model route I'll still be offering recolors for existing characters I have at my disposal for a lower fee.
Final thoughts:
I can't tell you how excited I am for this! Wrapping up this project opens doors for the future. Now that I have actually executed my idea into practice and seeing it work, I am ecstatic and beaming with excitement. I'm also feeling a little more comfortable with modeling and rigging too and hopefully will continue growing those skills moving forward.
Anyways! Cheers to you all! Thank you for your continued support as a subscriber or a watcher or a lurker. You all are the reason I make these animations and why I'm putting in such an effort to bring quality animations to all of you.
Cheers,
Spruce
