A ruler (ajaw) of Lakamte' ("Great Tree"), a fictional Classic Maya city state located near the western periphery of the Maya region, in the modern-day Mexican state of Tabasco. His name means "Fiery Flint Knife".
He came to the throne unexpectedly when his older brother, the ruler, was captured and executed by Saknahb, a rival kingdom, in 740 CE. In the ten years since, K'ak' Took' has overseen revenge against Saknahb, as well as a blossoming of monumental construction and art, fostered by Lakamte''s growing ties with a much larger city-state to the east.
Important to note that I'm not currently a historian, and combined with the paucity of information on much of Classic Maya society, this means there are likely inaccuracies here. In fact, I've already spotted an error since drawing this: I ended the rulers' title with "Holy Lord of [city name]." In actuality, the title wouldn't have given the city name, but rather the name of the court/dynasty that ruled the domain.
