I will always appreciate some fantastic mech design!
plus the environment and lighting is so, so damn well done- that raised hand especially and how it shows so much expression along with the rest of the body, like. massive props for making a masked character convey so much without relying on the face and everything.

I MEAN- NSFW stuff presents it's own challenges as well, especially when it comes to depicting anatomy and /emotion/, like- back when I experimented with the subject, a lot of my thoughts were about how to make it as illustrative and emotional as possible. and that's not to undermine hella explicit NSFW too; there's a lot of thought and consideration behind it that is always worth considering as well; art isn't created in a vacuum, especially when there is a lot of intent behind it.
you're absolutely right on that point, though ironically, my family was sent the old shit I drew[which is a long af story] and the reaction was... surprising?? my mom said she didn't know I would draw that stuff, but that it was very well done, hahahaha. my dad didn't gaf; he enjoys anything I draw.
but that being said, I think the reverse is also true with the fandom as well; an artist can put countless hours into a "clean" illustration and it'll not get the same reaction as the NSFW art, especially if that's the kind of material an artist is known for doing.

Appleseed was definitely a big inspiration, as well as TAG suits from the INFINITY ttg. At first I wanted to make it like the arms of the pilot were there but nothing was working for me so I kept the theme but instead had them be remote devices. Combine that with some new inspiration from the art for Forever Winter and boom, mech :3
