What could be more shocking, lifechanging, and terrifying than a terrorist hostage situation where you barely escape by the skin of your teeth and you know you could have ended up as badly or worse than one of your friends who got shot? Well, a couple of things, actually. Like meeting your girlfriends parents for the first time!!

This one's a bit of a weird one, given that I wanted to introduce Jane's aeromorph dad and human mom for a while in the story. What's a more recent development is the idea to introduce the big detail the end of this snippet has, which honestly I could have set that up better. It's very dramatic obviously, and will help a big arc later hit pretty hard. (Hey, in the pipe dream of a cartoon adaptation, I'd definitely set it up waay better lol) I know I could go back and retcon, however I already butcher previous parts of LtL enough already, haha. Plus the detail about Jane's ex specifically being trans? That won't just be for flavor, that factors into the story too in more ways than one.

Little worried about this one, feel like it's kind of jumbled and messy and some bits might get on some readers' nerves, plus I literally could not come up with a title for this part. Couldn't really find a way to hamfist it into a different arc either. As usual comments and critique are appreciated.
