This one requires a lil explination. The character Noname from the post apoc comic i was drawing was experimented upon to turn him into a living battery. As such his body contains obscene amounts of energy, even his very blood. Should his blood leave his body it becomes these amber crystals, radiating massive amounts of heat, often causing him grevious pain. Though the scientists who altered him forsaw this being somewhat life threatening, so they boosted his healing factor a hundred fold. So he remains in a near perpetual state of injury and healing untill his skin seals over beneath the crystal.

However these crystals are highly explosive, allowing Noname to use injured limbs or the crystals themselves as weapons.
