Warrowwick Domestic Bots Concepts 1
I made the mistake of not leading with this when initially posted to Patreon some months ago, (Yes, I know...too long! I swear I'm not dragging ass to do public posts to try and generate more Patreon memberships. I just...kinda hate doing clerical work, and public post always take a back seat to anything else I can spend my energy on before it tapers off for the day.) of posting this after a previous post that needed context from this. Well, not much context...just that the Auto-Chef cupboard appears in the backdrop.
So yeah, more concept work pertaining to commission work being paid out by my DM Doctor Portal to flesh out our little Dungeons and Dragons world. Expanding the whole 'Retro 50s Magic Space Age Punk' world as we play with our group. Naturally automatons are a big part of this era of the setting, with the return of magic some 50 years prior allowing for leaps and bounds to be made technologically thanks to meshing magic and tech together. Still I aimed to make all the robots look...very robotic. Very clunky, very machine, with only hints of humanization...or I guess 'Animalization' on top of that 50s futurism vibe.
A lot of the conceptual design tenets for these revolved around picking a retro appliance as a basis and building off of it. Usually picking one dominating device, and making everything else you could possibly need be an attachment for the units.
This big page has a bunch of different animal coded maids and butlers. The original pass at the maid was Fennec coded before shifting into the 'Homewrecker'. As for the butler, he was already feline coded. Thanks to fallout I can't not hear Mr. Handy's voice. These were largely designed off of retro vacuum cleaners for the bulk of the form, with a bunch of little attachments and asthetics being added around it. Eventually the final version...or at least the closest to a final version worked in car elements for style.
I've also designed an auto chef that's essentially hooked up to the entire kitchen. I imagine the kitchen even has a rail system to allow it to more freely move around the cooking stations and interact with the fridge, stove and other non-attached components. He was more or less finalized on his first pass. The fridge is also here, based on a retro fridge style as well which honestly is now giving me Atomic Heart weapons modder robot vibes...
I've got one more for you after this.
