"The Hybrid"
“Final report of the research facility Elysium…chief science officer reporting.”
“The year is 2693 A.D. My name is Dr. Salim. I am…I was…the lead science officer in charge of Project Chimera.”
“We began the experiment after the board of directors approved of my proposal regarding how we could further weaponize the Xenomorphs. While the creatures are still very new in discovery and there’s little to no evidence or info anywhere on them. Not even from what was once the Weyland Yutani Corporation. Our research here in Elysium has allowed us to understand at least to what I like to call the DNA reflex.”
“In my studies I have learned that the creatures inherit certain characteristics from their hosts. Accounting for the alterations to their’ basic form based on the genetic makeup of the host inside which they gestate from. Resulting in several different castes of Xenomorphs, each with their own specialized and exclusive abilities. While this is indeed a brilliant form of adaptation to whatever environment the creatures find themselves in. The company for the past years has found it has become very costly and difficult to obtain necessary hosts to produce these many different varieties that would be beneficial to our purposes.”
“Thus my proposal in Project Chimera, to create a genetically modified hybrid of several xenomorph castes that would possess all their different traits and specialized abilities regardless of the choice of host. The purpose was to both save time, money, and resources when producing these creatures, and to hopefully further weaponize them for the weapons division.”
“As expected, earlier attempts were…negative to put it kindly. We would take DNA samples from a variety of different castes and inject them into the embryo located inside a facehugger. Hoping to program the embryo with the necessary chosen traits we selected. Our results in eight different attempts from eight different specimens showed this process would kill the facehugger and embryo within moments, or cause mass deformities that would not survive for long.”
“It wouldn’t be until Specimen Nine that much to even my surprise…actually worked.”
“We were never able to figure out exactly how and why out of the nine different specimens we created..only this one survived the process. We believe it had something to do with the embryo we chose, coming from what we can conclude to be a Royal Facehugger instead of from a normal facehugger.”
“Royal Facehuggers are the ones that carry embryos that result in the creation of a queen. However, unlike normal facehuggers, Royal Facehuggers carry two embryos instead of one. We can only conclude that the second embryo is to act as a bodyguard or protector to its sister until she is able to establish a hive of her own.”
“Why the protector embryo worked and not the others we still never were able to figure out. And Specimen Nine or Hybrid as we officially called him, was only meant to be a prototype. So, we were limited to how many traits would give these specimens.”
“And perhaps it was better that way, because in the end, I do believe what brought our downfall, was that the project worked too well.”
“While I cannot point to exactly how everything went wrong. Either one of the guards got lazy in his job or the increased IQ we granted Hybrid allowed him to somehow escape.”
“Regardless of how he escaped, it didn’t take him long for him to be able to learn how to release the other xenomorphs we kept in captivity from their cages. With the many different traits and abilities, we granted him from various castes…we ultimately destroyed ourselves.”
“It’s been almost an entire year since the incident. Most of the facility’s inhabitants have either been killed or reduced to small bands of frightened, paranoid looters who hoard scavenged resources and react violently to anyone outside their group. Not only that but the facility’s A.I. has shut off all communications and reprogrammed the Working Joes stationed to prevent anyone from attempting to send a message, even kill if necessary.”
“And then there’s the hundreds of Xenos that stalk the facility, killing anyone or thing they come across. And yet somehow, they’re the least of our worries from the other horrors we kept down here.”
“As for Hybrid…I don’t know. If my further studies are to be correct, as a side effect being genetically engineered from a Royal Facehugger’s protector embryo. He is still mentally bound to his younger yet to be born sister, and still stalks the facility in search of her. And it is my strongest belief that he will search every inch of the facility, and kill anyone or thing that stands in his way to find and protect her, or die trying…”
“So, I leave this final message not as a recording of what has been done here, but as a warning to what we’ve created.
“I remember a colleague of mine once said that in space no one can hear you scream. But down here in Elysium…it won’t matter.”

And here we have my first OC from a popular series post, this from the famous Alien series. I got this commission about two years ago from the amazing 8i-ll-Ion who I give all credit to and strongly recommend everyone who faves this to go give her art a fave and watch. This particular character is the main Xenomorph Protagonist of a AVP story I'm working on just for fun. This is just an early prototype of his look and he will be getting updates as I try to afford them. If you guys have any questions on him let me know.
