A cheetah and her handler indulge in a bit of fun for onlookers at the Australia Zoo. For the cat, the handler provided a frozen milk treat for her to enjoy. However, one can tell that the handler was enjoying himself quite a bit as well as he answered the questions of onlookers and habituated the cat to small groups of people.

I'm a bit biased as a cat person, but like all big cats, Cheetahs are absolutely amazing to look at. I was able to get really close to some Cheetahs at Busch Gardens while visiting in Florida recently. I was literally only inches away with only a Plexiglas wall separating us. We sat there in the rain and stared at each other for a minute or two. I felt so connected... Then some young kids braved the rain and came over and the moment ended. I would have stayed there for quite some time, quietly observing the pride, but the family wanted to move on, so of course, I had to go. It's the one of the top highlights of my trip.
BTW, if you like roller coasters, the "Cheetah" at Busch Gardens is probably the best one I've ever ridden. Smooth as glass, and true to its namesake, fast and nimble! The designers did a wonderful job of simulating a Cheetah chasing prey. (of course Cheetahs don't do loops like the coaster) The cars are launched by a linear magnetic motor, not drug up a hill and released like most. Zero to sixty in mere seconds!
