Name: Murphy Swain
Age: 35
Species: River Otter
Sex: Male
Occupation: Wayfarer
Height: 6’0
Weight: 210 pounds
Eye Color: Obscured, but they’re Brown
Favorite food: Clam Chowder
Likes: Solitude, fishing, poetry, reading, exploring on his boat, sea shanties, dark beer, boxing, a good pipe and pipe tobacco, listening to a good storm at night safe on shore.
Dislikes: Know-it-alls, blabbermouths, busybodies, being talked back to, sauerkraut, invasive aquatic species. And racism.
Murphy has lived by water his whole life, and as soon as he could he went off to sea. The otter has lived a rough and tumble life, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. If the job involves the sea, Murphy’s tried his paw at it. From dockhand to sailor, Murphy’s got a lot of experience under his belt.
However, the last time Murphy went out to sea, the newest sailor attempted to kill the rest of the crew, succeeding except in killing Murphy. The otter escaped with his life, escaping on some driftwood as the ship’s murderer escaped on a lifeboat. Murphy is dead as far as anyone knew in his old life, and he wants to keep it that way. At least until he finds the one who murdered his crewmates and captain and settles the score.

Cool character, I love that you added a description of him and a little story to it . And also love Otters. I'm am also creating a fictional character thats also a Otter Name James Otterham.
He is going to be from The State of Maine from the 1840s and 1850s and he's going to the California Gold Rush. And later be on the Steamboat Arabia that sank on Sept 5, 1856 on the Missouri River.

Thank you for the kind words! I’m a big fan of otters as well (and the majority of mustelids). Murphy allows me to commission art to explore my love of nautical themes.
I love what you’re building with the backstory of James! Always wanted to visit Maine/ New England and would love to one day. I’ve heard of the Arabia! I believe I had an advertisement brochure for the exhibit for it from the last time I was in Missouri. I’d love to see it one day. Shipwrecks are also a huge interest of mine.

Your welcome. I'm always a Gentleman to everyone. And also I live in Maine, so I thought I make my character from the State were I live too. I thought what time period he was going to be? From a late 17th century Buccaneer to a early 18th century royal navy sailor and finally to the Wild West.
And I also love anything nautical too.
There's a steamboat similar to the Arabia name the Atlantic (1848) from lake erie.
here's a documentary for you to watch, I hope you enjoy it.
