Me neither, it's going pretty well in my mind - normally I encounter some problem that I have to work around but so far things have been going okay with this. It was fairly clear sailing after I decided to change them from sitting down to standing up. I really must learn that putting the effort in at the sketch stage is the way to do things!

i know what you mean :) I'm glad you decided to stand them up, that way we can see a lot more of the beautiful landscape behind them that we wouldn't have been able to see had they been sitting down with the image cropped right above their heads

I think it would have ended up looking pretty cramped if they were sat down! I did panic about about the composition of this to begin with, because I figured it would be quite a challenge to do something in two halves with a central divide. Do you do many initial sketches before you fix on something that you like? I really need to start treating my digital paintings the same way I do fashion design, and do lots of concept sketches to begin with, maybe - as long as I have the time!

I do think that your first sketch seemed cramped - just the way your figures are sitting looks uncomfortable to me! It's much better now that they're standing :)

As for myself, depending on what I am drawing I can work on a single sketch for hours xD Just tweaking tiny elements like a hand or foot, or sometimes keeping a figure's face the same and redrawing the body in many different ways tends to take up a lot of my time. I'm definitely unorganized.
