Hey Spencer, I hope you don't take this as flaming, because I'm trying to help you, but your art could use a lot of improvement. A lot of the anatomy is off, and the flat color doesn't really do the work any justice. I recommend a couple of books:
This one talks about animal anatomy, structure, and caricature. I find it rather helpful, and am learning from it right now.

This is focused on humans, and I know you don't really draw those, but at the very least you can learn a lot about shading and whatnot from this book.

I haven't gotten a chance to look at this yet, but another artist I watch highly recommends it, and she's a better artist than I am. :P

I also think you're really limiting yourself with Paint. Here's a couple of free programs.
I HIGHLY recommend this. No layers, but it acts like a real canvas.

GIMP is a free alternative to Photoshop. I prefer PS myself, but hey, this one is free.

Of course, if you have money or don't mind pirating, you can also get Adobe Photoshop and/or Alias Sketchbook Pro. Both are really good programs as well.
I hope I've helped.
