Praja computers have evolved differently from ours. They still have mainframes and terminals. This is a small, portable terminal.
Devising this device was mainly a furgonomics exercise. Prajas are of many species. How can I make a computer that's as comfortable as possible for many types of anthros to use? I settled on a few choices:
The main form of interaction is purely tactile, using three analog sticks. The screen and speaker are optional. The analog sticks can restrict their movement dynamically and have highly detailed haptics. Together the soft and hard resistance create "tactile landscapes". Mostly, everything works with radial menus. Even typing consists of very rapid tilting and pushing down of analog sticks, and reading text happens via rotating the sticks to read something that feels like braille or morse. My partner phrased: "Everything's a weapon wheel".
The I/O (Input/Output) hardware is wired-only, due to the praja world being under something akin to a permanent solar flare. For the same reason, the chassis is tightly insulated, and the device cannot have a touchscreen.
Yes, the integrated circuits are triangular. Praja lithography results in triangular chips, like tortilla. The triangle is the strongest shape~
