Sands of Change (Finx Macro Cat TF for DragonsBaneCannibal)
Part of a trade with
DragonsBaneCannibal of Finx from Brawl Stars turning into a macro cat. Was pretty fun to study up on Brawl Stars for it.
“Sigh. Another Day, Another Group of Challengers.”
Finx kept a careful eye from the upper reaches of the dim pyramid that he resided within. His single eyed mask gazed down at the gaggle of intrepid players for his fun little game. They had entered the pyramid for the promise of rewards, riches, and free concessions for a year for Starr Park, but they had no idea what they would face. Traps, pits, flames, and the pyramid’s very own (self-proclaimed) protector and owner.
Finx watched as that strange emerald green blobby man (Squeaks was his name Finx was told) began to bob and weave through the numerous arrow traps that lined the wall of the dim hallway. His little gold and blue outfit and wings did little to deflect the arrows that ended up bouncing off of his bulbous body. They were rubber tips of course, but they still packed a punch.
Finx curled his sandals over the edge of the scaffolding he crouched upon before leaping down to the lower archway right above the traps. As Squeaks made his way to the arch, Finx laid down on his stomach and stuck his tongue out instinctively as he nudged his staff into a nearby crate. Just as he was about to reach safety, Finx prodded the crate off the edge of the arch.
It landed and shattered into splinters, causing Squeaks to jump and look over. The crate contained several small marbles, which spread out across the hall and caused him to lose his balance. Just as he almost got some stable footing, an arrow flew out and punched him square in the stomach, sending him flying off the edge of the hall and into the dim void below. He landed with a resounding thump on the safety pad floor below, his green squishy body sinking into the pads with a sad deflating noise. Finx chuckled to himself seeing the comedic display before him.
“Now, Where Are the Others? Sure Hope They Haven’t ‘Clawed’ Their Way to Victory Yet.” Finx said as he held up his own hand, only to again be disappointed he didn’t have any claws of his own. Maybe he should see about getting some. Could be a cool new weapon to try over his staff.
In any case, Finx’s ears on his cat-like mask twitched as he realized another contestant was moving up above. Heavy footsteps he knew signalled that lumbering hunk of muscle was trampling through his bounce pads at this moment. Finx used his staff to shimmy up a nearby pillar before leaping across a gap towards another archway, this one situated over a massive pool of water.
Down below, a massive undead man bound by bandages and gold jewellery (whom Finx knew was named Frank) was making his way across the many trampolines that covered the otherwise treacherous water below. Deep within its emerald green recesses lay many wave generators, all pushing the water towards a huge waterfall over the edge. Of course the water below would cushion their fall, but it would still be a rather shocking end to an attempt for the prize.
As Frank lept another gap and bounded across another trampoline, Finx carefully surveyed from above and saw a prime opportunity for sabotage. Right above the last trampoline was a small loose stone, holding on by naught but the mercy of gravity. Finx carefully trotted over to it as to not alert Frank below and waited. Just as he was about to jump to the last trampoline, Finx jabbed the loose stone with his staff, and it plummeted.
As Frank landed on the trampoline, the stone landed next to him and shoved the trampoline down even further. Frank looked at the stone with a mix of shock and fear as he glanced up to see Finx right above him. Finx gave a little wave as Frank let out a sad sigh before he was launched high into the air. He let out a loud howl as he ended up slamming into the ceiling and leaving behind a noticeable dent. He fell dazed into the water below before getting tossed like a ragdoll over the edge and into the nice cool pool below.
Finx would have felt a little bad but he knew Frank was tough and would shake that off like it was nothing. Instead, he was annoyed to see the damage done to his lovely temple.
“How Rude. I’m Gonna Have to Get Someone Up There to Fix It, Before It Becomes a Cat-astrophe.” Finx chuckled to himself before noticing something peculiar about the dent. It seemed like part of the ceiling was buckling ever so slightly. As if it was about to fall.
And fall it did. The stone platform gave out and fell down into the water below, creating a massive splash of water that Finx shielded with his arm. He felt some splash him and instinctively hissed before looking up at the now open ceiling. Some sort of cavity had opened up above, and the scent of ancient air and dust drifted out of its confines.
“Hmmmm. Now Where Might That Lead?” he asked aloud. As he did, he heard cheers from above and realized he had forgotten what he was doing here. He looked over at the timer illuminated in gold on the stone wall and sure enough, there was only 30 seconds left. He didn’t have long before the challengers reached the finish line and got their prize and freedom (ok maybe not their freedom cause they could leave at any time but Finx liked to mess with them).
Finx quickly scrambled up a nearby pillar with his staff before landing on a stone slab. He tapped his staff against it and it rumbled with purple magic before ascending off the ground. The slab rose up high to the pyramid’s peak, where sunlight shone down from above. Finx set the slab down gently on a ledge before beholding the scene before him.
One of the challengers had made it to the top, being that young lad with the hoverboard (or rather a sarcophagus as Finx had arranged) and mummy attire. Finx knew him as Ollie, the skater boy who loved Starr Park and its many attractions. He was a difficult foe to best, as he was bobbing and weakening through the numerous bouncy ball launchers and crushers like they were nothing. He was almost to the ring that signalled his victory.
Finx was not ready to let this little cat and mouse game end just yet, and as the young boy began to climb towards the hoop, he slammed his staff into the ground and a wave of purple energy engulfed the entire pyramid. Time seemed to slow as Ollie lept in the air towards the ring, then it slowed even further as the wind and flow of light became stagnant. Finx raised up his staff and looked around, his body cloaked in nebulous energy and moving like a fish through water. Time was his to command within this temple.
As Finx prepared to mess with Ollie in order to disrupt his attempt at victory, he glanced back at the hole in the ceiling Frank had created and felt curiosity drawing him towards it. He had all the time in the world to investigate right now, so maybe it was worth a look.
Finx leapt off the edge of the pyramid’s upper area and reached out his staff. Like a magical grapple, it yanked him through the air and into the opening. The space above was quite large, yet Finx couldn’t get an accurate read given how dark it was. Finx managed to land on solid ground and taped his staff gently on the ground, causing its purple gem to glow.
The room was cast in a bright purple light and Finx was taken aback. An old shrine stood before him depicting the relief of the goddess Bastet, flanked by unlit torches and several dust covered treasures. The pyramid where his little game took place was nothing more than a mockup. A glorified scaffolding of his own design. Yet here was a room that looked like it had been taken from an ancient pyramid itself. How on earth had it ended up there?
Finx pushed away the silly thoughts. Perhaps it had been drawn here by his magic. Temporal manipulation was said to be a volatile art, so maybe it had found something familiar in the past and brought it here. Whatever the case, Finx had a genuine Egyptian artifact right in his little temple (he had an eye for these sorts of things).
Finx approached the altar and got a better look at the relief of Bastet. She regarded him with her feline gaze and a look of smug indifference. The goddess of fertility and protection for old Egypt, and the gentler aspect of Sekhmet. It couldn’t have been a coincidence a goddess associated with cats was drawn to Finx, a cat obsessed man himself.
As Finx observed the altar more closely, he realised there were some visible hieroglyphs along the bottom of it. He could barely make them out, but it seemed like instructions of some sort for giving an offering to Bastet. And stranger enough, it seemed to show the relief of his staff as well.
Finx read the instructions closely and saw what looked like a small diamond shaped slot, a perfect fit for the gem of his staff. He brought his staff down to eye level, its purple glow still casting a brilliant light, and gently removed the gem. Examining it more closely to make sure it fit, he gently set it down in the depression and it made a satisfying ka-chunk noise.
The altar seemed to rumble a bit, causing Finx to instinctively step back, before the torches that flanked it lit up with a bright yellow flame. The gem began to glow ever more brilliantly and Finx shielded his mask’s eye with his arm as it released a dazzling blinding light. The light dimmed and Finx looked over his arm to see the gem was now resonating with a brighter, more potent purple. He could feel new, powerful magic quaking beneath its surface. A magic that seemed to resonate with his very being.
“My My… This Power Is Paw-sitivly Delightful.” he said, picking up the gem from its recess. It tingled against his fingers as he returned it to the staff and placed it back in the reciprocal.
As he did, Finx’s ears twitched as he realized he had forgotten what he was doing. He quickly dashed to the opening in the floor and hopped out back to the main area of the pyramid, where he saw Ollie still midflight, having merely passed through the ring. Time was still slowed, but if Finx didn’t do anything Ollie was sure to win.
“Well, I Think It’s Time For a Reset.” Finx said. He tapped his staff against the ground and felt its powerful energy surge through his body and the pyramid. Purple energy began to engulf him and he prepared to reset time to the beginning, to give the challengers another shot at making it (and to toy with them further).
However, as the magic of his staff resonated and resounded once more, Finx felt a peculiar sensation along his body, the familiar sensation of temporal energy being utterly overwhelmed by a new, yet familiar power.
“Hmmm? What is This Feeling?” he asked himself. The purple energy coming off his body felt even more intense, and he couldn’t help but pull up his mask to get a better look. The sensation felt incredibly strong in his hands, like something brushing up against each of them.
POOF!
In an instant, jet black fur erupted from the back of both his hands, causing him to jump.
“HUH!? This is… New.” Finx said surprised. The fur began to spread all across his body, working its way up his arms and across his shoulders to meet at his chest. Like a spreading clump of moss, his whole body was quickly becoming engulfed in this fur.
From the palms of his hands emerged small fleshy pads, which he felt underneath the bandages that wrapped his arms. His fingernails split apart down the middle and fell away, quickly being replaced by small, sharp claws.
“Wait… Are Those… Oh My.” Finx began to realize what was happening as he felt more of the fur engulf his body. His stomach and chest were quickly consumed and it spread down his shorts and across his legs. His sandals buffed out ever so slightly as he saw his toes get engulfed, following his toenails splitting to create a new set of claws.
“Well, It Seems That Wasn’t an Altar of Bastet For Nothing.” Finx said delightedly. He felt the fur engulf his face and neck entirely and embraced it warmly, but soon felt a powerful sensation at his waist. He looked back and saw the seat of his shorts beginning to bulge out.
“Hmmm I Know What This Will En-Tail.” Finx said, a smile on his face. He felt the new limb grow into place before suddenly, his shorts erupted open. Out of the new rip emerged a black cat’s tail, long and slender and already flicking in its newfound freedom. Finx held the tail in his hands and was overjoyed.
Finx felt his teeth begin to quiver and opened his mouth to feel with his finger. Sure enough, they had all begun to elongate into large fangs, and his nose had shrunken against his face and widened, becoming more like a cat’s. The lower part of his face began to elongate, and Finx began to feel uncomfortable in his mask.
He grabbed his handmade creation and took it off his face, feeling a new snout beginning to form on the lower part of his face. As it stretched out, his ears began to shiver before stretching out of the side of his head. They took on a more triangular shape and rose over top of his thick black hair, granting him greater hearing.
Finx felt the changes to his head conclude as his snout fully stretched out. He kept a careful grip on his staff as he felt his face, feeling the whiskers and nose that dotted its surface. Perfect, he thought to himself. A form befitting a servant of the Egyptian gods.
The changes weren’t done yet, as Finx felt his body slowly beginning to rise up. He looked down at his sandals and saw his feet began to stretch and creak out of the opening. One of his toes shrunk and slid up the side of his feet as they stretched out and began to touch the warm stone floor. He almost tripped but managed to remain steady as he rose onto the balls of his new paws. The growth continued as his feet bloated out and widened, causing his sandals to begin to feel constraining.
“Urgh! Well, I Suppose Such a Form Would Need Some Extra Height.” Finx said as he felt his legs and arms beginning to stretch out. The bandages around his hands began to tighten as well as his fur began to rip and tear through the white cloth. He looked down and saw his belly beginning to show between his shirt and shorts, its jet black fur shining in the sunlight above.
The purple energy intensified as Finx felt himself suddenly shoot up further. His bandages tore off the palms of his hands and he got a good look at the new beans he possessed, a dark grey set of leathery pads on his hands. He couldn’t help but stick out his tongue in glee, satisfied to feel the changes continuing.
His sandals began to stretch and snap from the pressure. The purple straps over the top of his paws were the first to go, as with a loud snap they both flew off the top and caused the soles of his sandals to begin to droop off his paws.
Finx’s shirt was next to go as the short sleeves were constrained up at his shoulders and began to rip, exposing more and more of the black fur. His body kept adding on height and mass as he saw the pyramid slowly beginning to get smaller. His shorts began to squeeze his thighs and he could feel new muscles pushing against the clothes.
If Finx had to guess, he had assumed the role of a god’s avatar with that altar, being Bastet’s new icon. And of course, such an avatar would need a powerful and vast body to lore over the god’s domain in their stead. So of course, Finx realized htat maybe getting out of the pyramid momentarily would be a good idea.
PING! As he thought it, he felt the jewellery in his hair pop off and fall to the floor. The remaining straps on his sandals popped as well, causing them to fall to the ground beneath his growing form. He was easily three times his normal height now, and didn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. His shirt began to rip down the center, revealing a vast plumage of fur underneath. As his hair spread out wildly and his shirts began to tear across the legs, he realised he may have another issue.
“Hmmm… Maybe A New Outfit is Needed As Well.” he said. The thought couldn’t have come sooner, as his shirt and the rest of his bandages suddenly tore off his body from the growing mass, leaving only his shorts behind.
Finx felt his ears tickle the ceiling as he saw how tall he had gotten. Over 20 meters tall by this point, he didn’t have much longer until he began to hurt the pyramid. He ended up crouching down as he felt his shorts begin to rip along the waist, exposing more of his fur.
Finx felt a tinge of embarrassment cross his mind before quickly suppressing it. Without a moment to lose, he channeled his temporal energy into his body and cast the whole of the pyramid into a realm between time. Now nothing more than a mirage, he easily slid through the ghostly walls and floated out in the vast space between time. A storm of purple and black surrounded him as he felt his body continuing to expand more and more, the only thing growing alongside him being his staff.
RIPPP! His shorts finally gave out and were torn away, leaving his body bare. The remains of his clothes drifted away into the recesses of time as Finx grew bigger.
And bigger.
AND BIGGER.
Finx had easily grown taller than the pyramid by this point, and felt a surge of newfound energy yet. With one last push, his body expanded one last time, making him twice as large as the pyramid. Finx let out a triumphant cackle and held his staff at his side, feeling the transformation finally subside.
“Ahhhhhh, How Utterly Delightful! I’m Feline Great!” Finx said cheerfully, until he looked down and realised he was completely nude. Embarrassment crossed his face and he chuckled as he floated in the rift of spacetime.
“Ahhh, Maybe Some Clothes First.” he said. As if on demand, his staff sparkled and he felt a golden energy course over his body. A golden band formed around his waist before spreading down into a brilliant blue and gold waistcloth, decorated with ankhs and other Egyptian iconography. Right below, two golden anklets formed right above his paws, finally making him decent.
A neck collar formed and from it spread another cloth, this one covering up his chest and shoulders. Armbands formed around his elbows and wrists while several golden rings appeared along his fingers. His hair braided itself and had golden bands added to keep it in line as a final golden ring was added to his new tail.
Upon his forehead, a golden circlet appeared marked by a single golden eye, his trademark sigil, he looked up at it in joy and whimsy as he moved his body in his new outfit, feeling how comfortable and befitting it was.
“Now Then, Let’s Try This Again, But With More Bravado.” he said with a sly grin on his face. He gently grasped the pyramid with his hands and flipped it over, sending all the contestants back in time to when they first entered, before pulling hard on the edges of it.
The pyramid seemed to expand, growing larger and larger until Finx was holding a massive pyramid that could easily fit him inside. He slid through the walls with the help of some temporal energy and watched as the pyramid expanded and formed new rooms, traps, and most importantly, a massive throne at its peak. As Finx came to sit upon the throne and gazed down at his now massive and expanded pyramid, he snapped his fingers and felt time resume as normal.
The challengers all appeared at the entrance and seemed confused by the newfound size of the pyramid. As they beheld the new traps and paths before them, a great light from above illuminated the whole of it, casting a warm glow on FInx as he sat upon the throne.
“Welcome, Challengers, To My New And Mighty Pyramid! Fight Your Way To The Top Before Time Runs Out, And Win Fortune, Glory, And a Year Long Pass for Starr Park! Fail, And Remain Here Forever!” he announced boldly, his words echoing off the pyramid’s interior.
“Now Then, Let The Game Begin.”
