Hi!
I thought that I would finally share this since it’s been rotting in my photos for far too long…
I had trouble choosing the categories for this because it’s “Virtual Photography” in the sense that this is a screenshot of a computer game lol.
Anyway…
I like The Sims 2. It lets me build things and express my creativity, but I quickly get burnt out on it and abandon it. The modest-polygon style has always been charming. I know that it’s a 20+ year old game now (😳), but it holds a place in my heart for my PS2 days when I didn’t have it on PC.
It’s very surprising despite its age, and the various expansions feel nice and lived-in.
My case here is that I was “trying” to make a custom Downtown subhood. This was supposed to be a tenement in an industrial area of the city.
If you want a bit of flavor text…
In the smoky, gearhead part of Downtown, there are tenements squeezed with people. Even the basements are teeming with down-on-their-luck lives. Incredibly cheap, they’re for any and everyone who needs a bed, kitchen, bathroom, and whatever else in that spare room to the side. Sure, the walls are exposed brick, but that’s trendy these days in the industrial lofts of the yuppies and techies ready to pitch you their new software idea or hardware prototype. The units are small, not able to see the Sun, but in this city, you’ll do anything to make it big, right? Are you a runaway? A vampire? Maybe a newbie who wants to save a few bucks. We got you. Just sign your name here, here, and…here. Perfect. Here are the keys. Rent’s on Monday. Give me a call if the sink’s acting up. If there is a fire, uh, well, you know where the exit is. No worries there. Thanks for your lease. Hope you make it big, hot shot.
(Note: if you want me to make this an album with multiple uploads, let me know. I have pictures of the bathroom and spare room.)
