Akari started spending time with Mercury sometime after the Siwa War given she has a crush on him. Although as much as she wants to see him often her father Sandayu doesn't approve of it and even her caretaker Lancelot forbids her from seeing him (don't want her finding out what they did to the Quicksilver family).
When she heard that the local fortune teller Atem Mutoh was visiting Hisui, she desperately wanted to go see him given his fortunes could aid her. Sandayu knows Atem well and he doesn't want the Slowking giving too much away so he let Akari see him on the condition he goes with her as her diaper.

When she saw Atem she felt her heart beat given she usually doesn't go for fortunes. She paid to have Atem give her his famous three card fortune, she asked if there's a life for her and Mercury much to Sandayus irritation.

The card of Fate had a Silver Heart on it and he showed her Destiny which had a shimmering heart, and Tragedy that had a crack in it. She paid to see both which surprised him as most only pay for Destiny, except Seth who asked for Tragedy.

It annoyed her that Atem only showed their feet which most don't notice given they always wear socks and sandals.

Card of Tragedy: She sides with one with wispy feet.
She asked if she could have a hint, the only hint he gave her is to either be happy with the one she loves or stay loyal to her homeland and fight against enemies.

With that Atem thanked her for her business and she went on her way trying to puzzle his cryptic hint. Sandayu assured her that her homeland needs her, but she wants to have a love life, luckily she has tons of time while Sandayu and Lancelot do their best to keep her away from Mercury.
