Just a collection of images from the colder months here in Oregon with Amtgard. Despite it being a bit slower than the warmer months we've still had a great time out in the various fields and spaces swinging sticks and shouting at each other. In a fun way!

The top left image is from one of the events at Dragons Forge - I believe it was the Boar Hunt? Dont fully remember at this time. It was awhile ago as I still have my now broken wooden shield. But here we see a Ditch Line. A common Amtgard thing to do between the bigger games where you just line up against others and fight with no abilities or armor. So all my armor there gives me no advantage what so ever! But got to practice wearing it so I can get used to walking around Drachenfest with it and fighting! So I try to take any chance I can to practice fighting and moving in it.

Top right we have me trying to be the most Warrior I can be. As the Warrior class has no natural defenses to spells and magic, unlike Barbarian who is immune to Command and Subdual, you tend to get targeted a lot. Especially your weapons as abilities that affect them tend to come in more frequency or cheaper as they can only affect equipment. So in this picture I am carrying; my Great weapon polearm, one of my full foam shields (before it broke), a longsword on my belt (you can see the end of it by my feet(I learned after this that that particular sword was too long as I kept almost tripping over it)), then a bag on my back with two javelins in it. Turns out taking those out of a holder on your back was harder than I thought it would be but hey! I was ready! I ate a lot of spells for my team so they could keep going. Also no rat mask as with all the stuff I was carrying I really needed to be able to see so I didn't drop and fall over something.

And the last two pictures are from a Kingdom Level Event where a lot of parts tend to meet up and have a big day together. This way Day of the Ditch where we tend to just do a bunch of fights without gear to practice the basics of stick whackin on each other. Wearing thicker boots compared to the pink rat sneakers as the ground was wet and muddy! But I cant not wear the clan drip! Its always nice when Amtgarders from parks I rarely see love the outfit :) The small shield is my 'lets just tape it all' try at the all foam shield. No contact cement or glue used at all. Its not as pretty but its so far held up to a lot of abuse so woo hoo.
