Having been kidnapped by the Tengatsu clan when she was still young, tortured for being unable to adapt to and master their ways, and almost executed as a result; its fair to say that Tatsumaki’s history has not been kind to her. However, the only reason she continues to draw breath to this day is due to demonic intervention. When Tatsumaki was meant to be executed, a feral shadow interrupted the “ceremony” and laid waist to the various members of the Tengatsu clan, ravaging the area with it wind based powers. While various members were indeed killed during the skirmish, Tatsumaki managed to survive the attack…but not without sacrificing her arm in the process and being left for dead; her soul being considered too measle of a meal for the demon that attacked the execution grounds. However, it was here that fate decided to smile upon the injured bat by having the TRUE ousted grand master of the Tengatsu clan save Tatsumaki from being yet another discarded body of the clan that was taken from him. After saving Tatsumaki, the grand master used his knowledge of traps and tools to craft and fit his new pupil with an artificial arm filled with weapons and gadgets to help her. The grand master trained Tatsumaki in the art of harnessing and utilizing her latent spiritual power, allowing her to give the once fake arm life and allowing her to use it as an extension of herself in spite of its artificial nature. After mastering how to use her artificial limb, Tatsumaki was trained in the arts that once graced the Tengatsu clan, mastering weaponry, sparra control, and hand to hand combat in the process. After mastering her training and saying goodbye to her master, Tatsumaki went on a vendetta against the Tengatsu clan; hellbent on wiping every trace of them from the earth and hoping to punish them for their crimes of murdering her parents and disgracing the organization her master worked hard to establish!

Given her skills and power, its no wonder Oblivia saw Tatsumaki as a worth candidate for the Apostles! While initially hesitant to do join such a mysterious organization, Tatsumaki soon reconsidered due to Oblivia’s good well, with the goddess giving her back the arm she lost so many years ago (hence why you usually see Tatsumaki with all her limbs in various depictions). While Tatsumaki had to fight hard to survive, the winds of defeat constantly pushing her back; she soon gained the ability to make the wind fight for her and is sure to use it to cut through all obstacles in her way. *TRIVIA: Tatsumaki typically conceals her face a majority of the time by either a hood or some form of mask. Interestingly enough. Tatsumaki wears demon/oni masks when killing/pursuing members of the Tengatsu clan which ultimately lead to her nickname of the “Stormwind Demon”.
