the unofficial sequel to Bug-Eyed Pig Alien/Wizpig, which was...removed for some reason?
I decided I should give 3d another shot, and since ZBrush has one of the most confusing interfaces ever I opted to try Sculptris.
It convinced me to try 3D more.
I'm aware of all of the glaring anatomy issues (hint: no references) and the low chance of me finishing this, but...it was fun. Certainly a bazillion times easier to use than every other 3D program I've tried. :V
EDIT: made a few adjustments. may require hammering the F5 key

Tru dat. Every other 3d program scared me away with its confusing methods of making a decent model. The most I really picked up was playing around with the renders/lighting. :P
Then I run across Sculptris which is straight to the point and simple to use, even with limited knowledge of 3D. More people should use it, especially since its completely free.

Sculptris is to 3d modelling what Sai is to digital illustration. People don't use it much mainly because it's still in an early development stage, and it doesn't offer as much control over the modelling as Mudbox or Zbrush, plus the result on the wireframe is often completely impractical for anything animation related. So basically all you could effectively do with it is practice anatomy, making awesome eye candy, or normal maps.
That said, I'm not putting it down any time soon.

I say go for it. Head on over to: http://www.pixologic.com/sculptris/
I'd watch a few vids of folks making stuff in it to pick up on a few things (i.e. Adding/Making a torso, etc.) and play around with the tools. Once you get the general idea on how the tools work you can pretty much go nuts.
It's practically destroying my art block just because how fun it is to mess around in it. Ir's like drawing, only with 3 dimensions. :V
