O'er the hills and O'er the Mane...
Richard Sharpe, hero of Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe's novels. A guts & glory action series set in the Napoleonic wars. He's got the proper scar on his left cheek, but he'll probably end up with a sandy blonde mane like Sean Bean. Just can't go into those books without hearing that Yorkshire accent.
No idea how he's supposed to load that rifle, though...

I've thought out a system where each soldier would be fitted with a saddle that holds a musket on each side of the pony. To fire a pony soldier would bite down on a bit connected to the saddle and then the firing mechanism for both rifles. After using both shots other ponies remove the two muskets and replace them with freshly loaded rifles and take the discharged rifles back behind the line formation for reloading.
