She's finally here: the legendary third character that is not a sharkwolf.
She's a extroverted. She's energetic. She's clumsy. She easily loses focus. She's prone to being the victim of transformations.
A major reason why I made her is because I often want to get kinky collabs with people but I don't really feel comfortable having Simm as a sub to anyone but Oub and a few very specific others (and Oubliette is almost 100% dom now outside of April Fool's day). Cammy fills that third role well by being more distant from me as a character compared to the other two. That's the plan, at least.
I also want to say I'm kinda proud of her design. While Simm and Oub had a fair amount of direction behind their designs, there was still a lot of artistic freedom and so I consider the designs themselves to be more Nazaki's than mine. Meanwhile, I had largely decided on Cammy's design before giving it to Kendra. (Don't get me wrong either - Kendra deserves the full credit here for bringing the design to life and giving it reference-level quality.)
The original inspiration was printer testing sheets. It should be no surprise, then, that her name and palette is a reference to the color model used by most printers: CMYK. My early attempts at a fur pattern tried to reference the testing sheets more directly with a lot of geometric shapes, but it didn't look good to have large harsh lines and angles all over an organic form like a tail. After browsing through my faves for a bit, I came up with an alternate idea to have the colors be part of a jelly-like substance in choice places.
Part of the reason for the tail and handpaws looking the way they do is that I wanted to avoid having her look like just a palette swap. Plus, the handpaws match her clumsy persona and the goo tail can have some fun implications down the road!
Oh, and she's a "snow leopard thing" because I started by wanting a large cat to compliment the aqueous canines. Sneps are cool, but she feels a little too far from the factory defaults to just be a standard snep. Hence "snow leopard thing".
Absolute loads of credit to Kendra for the art here. A huuuugggeee thank-you to her for taking my silly design ideas and giving some back and forth on it.
