Not so fun fact, Hamtaro's mother is dead in canon. In the special “Happy Birthday Hamtaro - 3000 Hammy Steps in Search of Mommy”, Hamtaro meets his mom up in the clouds and she tells that she’s proud of him and tells him that she will always be with him. When the social aired in the states, they completely cut out the searching for mom plot cuz they thought it’d be too depressing for kids. This was back in the early 2000’s and before that, Rugrats tackled the subject of death with Chuckie’s mom and it was highly praised.
