Then they've obviously not seen how many exotics he has...
I'm sure he's capable of raising a lion just fine, it's when it's had no human contact that's the problem
(a lion in Zion Wildlife gardens had no contact with his owner Craig Busch for several months and it was getting anxious... it led to a mauling of a keeper, and consequently it had to be put down)

Sending big cats to a zoo or a facility when they get older is actually pretty much NOT gonna happen most of the time. In the US alone there are over 5000 tigers owned as pets, which is more than there are left in the wild. Most zoos can NOT sustain any more wild cats or take in pets, and same with most rehabilitation centers. Many lion/tiger/big cat cubs die young from the diseases they're likely to get by being handled so young, and the rest... well, their fate is mysterious.
Seeing people OWNING wild cats as PETS makes me absolutely sick, because the welfare of the animals are at stake. If they injure the owner, they'll be killed. If they get too big, they likely get killed.
I don't know about Russia's laws, but I was linked here by a big cat rescue blog where they were pretty confident that most of the larger wild pets he owns are highly regulated, and thus probably black market style pets. And him actively posting them here as "Lol cute animals" just makes all the furries who can't separate reality from fiction want to go out and buy more illegal animals, which are dangerous, and deadly for the animals, and does NOT help conservation at all.
One final note... almost any wild cat you could get as a pet is some type of hybrid of regional sub species. Like, a pet tiger will be an amur/Siberian mix and thus CAN NOT be released into the wild, or bred, no matter how healthy, because its genetics are worthless towards conservation (as regional sub species have very specific genetics that help them survive in their areas), and any responsible zoo won't take them anyway.
