Farin could brag to everyone that he had the best family in the world. And of course there were reasons for that. Who wouldn't want to be related to a dragon, especially of royal blood and in two, no, three copies? And Farin was the owner of four dragons as members of his family: father, father-in-law, husband, and of course his favorite son. And each took care of the fox as best they could.
“So, are you guys done yet?” asked Sa'mon, peering into the room where his parents had already finished their rehearsal. Farin nodded and wagged his tail.
“Yeah, but... It's so hard not eating for four hours, and I...”
“PAPA!”
The prince looked angrily at the fox, and Farin saw angry lightning in his son's eyes.
“Do I have to force you to eat?” asked Sam, flaring wide nostrils like his father's. “What did you promise me?”
“Sam, stop it,” said Sek'ral sternly, standing up. “Your dad's going to go eat now.”
“He should have done that a long time ago,” growled the prince, trying not to raise his voice. He was very displeased. The dragon king stood up and walked over to his son.
“Don't you think it's not up to you to decide when our fox eats, huh?” he asked, standing in front of his son like a mountain, chest jutting forward. Sam hummed.
"So, Dad, you think you're tough, huh? Well, there are cooler men out there."
And he stood in front of his father so that his youthful chest rested against the young king's abs.
“Wow, decided to beat me in a duel of pecs?” asked Sekk wryly, piling on top of his son and pressing the boulders of chest muscle against the prince's nose.
“That alone will settle our argument,” Sam didn't back down, tensing up and pressing the bricks of his chest into the space between his father's pecs and abs, trying to push back.
“Hey-hey, guys, stop it!” tried Fanin to intervene.
“SCREW OFF!”
Both dragons turned their heads toward the fox in sync, and Farin realized: he'd better keep quiet. Sekk and Sam turned their heads again and continued to stare at each other.
"I'm not giving up my position, father! Do you think dad is still mad at you?" the prince said, pushing his father away with his chest. The king recoiled, but not fall.
“I wish I could say he wasn't, but I didn't defend him!” he growled, striking back. Sa'mon felt as if he'd been hit with a heavy log in the sternum, but he didn't budge an inch.
"Really? Who fought my grandfather knowing full well that he was stronger? Who said the words that grandfather would have to kill you, but you wouldn't give up? Who had the courage to say that he would give his blood, and possibly his life, for Daddy? Who, I ask you?!"
Saying all of this, Sam pushed his father's chest over and over again, showing great strength and never taking his eyes off the older dragon's gaze. Sekk was breathing heavily, he hadn't expected his boy to be this angry.
"But it's like this! I'm just an idiot! I should have..."
Another punch to the chest knocked Sam to the floor, but the prince got up lightning fast and continued to attack his father.
"You really are an idiot, as you call yourself on page 300! What could you have done? After all, dad could have gotten hurt even more! And then, you taught me yourself that dragons protect their own and they don't always come out with a perfect defense!"
"It's not for you to teach me! You're just a little dragon. Who doesn't understand a lot of things!"
"You may be right, father, but I know one thing: you, dad, grandfathers..... You are my family! And even though my homeland is the lands of the Western Dragon Clan, I choose this clan as my homeland! And I will not give up!"
The entire time they were fighting, the two dragons piled on top of each other, as if they were trying to pressure their opponent both mentally and physically. It wasn't just a duel, it was a battle of natures, hot and passionate. Farin watched with bated breath as both of his dragons bumped chest to chest, trying to force his opponent to surrender. Finally Sam shoved his father's chest with tremendous force and he fell on his back.
“Damn, you beat me again,” chuckled the king, getting up. “Well, I'll admit, you won that argument.”
"Father, I love our clan and I love you and Dad. And if I am offered to return to the western clan, I will say only one thing: I do not trade my homeland," Sam replied calmly, breathing heavily. Sekk walked over to his son and hugged him gently.
"Well, I'm glad, son. But... Are you sure? You won't regret it?"
“I will regret only one thing: if I betray you and Papa!” exclaimed Sa'mon. "I value the honor of the clan I've been nurtured by over the years more. And believe me, Papa, you are an example of a perfect ruler. I want to be like you!"
And the prince kissed the chest of the elder dragon, then walked towards the exit. At the door, however, he turned around and said:
“And have you noticed that in the last panel of this page you are standing almost exactly the same as in the last panel of page 418?”
“Indeed, Sekk's pose is the same,” the fox exhaled admiringly, looking over the materials. “And I stand a little differently.”
“I know,” smiled the prince. "Well, I've got to go, Grandpa's waiting for a practice fight. And yes, Dad, eat, please. I don't want you spewing stomach juices in the bathroom afterward."
Saying that, Sam left the room.
“Wow, our boy is already so grown up,” the fox said looking at his husband. Sekk smiled.
"He is a true son of his clan. His willingness to die protecting the dragons who sheltered him is admirable."
“It's all your and Dad's schooling,” Farin grinned. “Dad and you put the thoughts of a true man into his head.”
“Dragons should not betray,” the older king raised his index finger upward. “You could end up without wings, or even lose your life.”
“I'm sure our son will always know what to do, for he has the most sensitive and loyal heart,” Farin wept.
“Okay, let's go eat, you really haven't eaten in a long time,” said Seck, and they walked to the dining room.
Meanwhile, Sam was fighting the old king and thought only one thing:
"I will not become what the general and his servants from the canon events became. Yes, the honor of our clan comes first, but I will never let my heart become stale and hurt the weak. Father, Dad, I don't know how, but I will protect you... even if I have to fall on the battlefield."

You raise a great point about how Sekk'ral has changed in ways that he otherwise would not have, since he met Farin in the early parts of the novel. Both he and Farin have endured a strong level of character development as the story has progressed, especially Farin I would say the most.
I wonder if Farin and Sekk'ral will live at the castle together now, or if King Daddy is going to ask Sekk'ral to make good on his promise that he would marry Z'meera if Daddy revealed the way to save Farin's life, which was the Elixir of Dragon's Blood.

Haha, it seems that our humble Farin is also quite hungry in your world version of him too! I suppose he works up quite the appetite admiring his hot, studly dragon's body. Who wouldn't lol?
It's super cute that Sa'mon is so very caring about Farin's well-being. It's lovey-dovey in a very honest, plain manner. Very adorable, I greatly enjoy your work with these kinds of themes.
Whew! Count me in as a spectator for the huge father / son drake muscle battle. Especially those 'boulders' of chest muscle, whew!
LOL I loved the part where Sa'mon doesn't back down, and instead presents his own muscular physique as a rising challenge against Sekk'ral. Too hot, WHEW!
Damn, a rare moment of rudeness towards Farin from the dragon family. I wonder if this rivalry between them is really all that healthy for their overall family unit... it seems like it could be a real disturbance. I hope it doesn't grow out of control.
I like how Sa'mon is taking Sekk'ral to task, finally somebody in world of this graphic novel does it, even if it has to be a fan character.
Ah, so Sa'mon is from the western clan lands? So he is perhaps a child of a westerner and a southerner? Or is he full blooded a westerner?
Looks like Sa'mon is a fan of the graphic novel series that started their movie filming! Always glad to see another member in the My Mate fandom.

Oh, if only Sam were a half-blood.... No, he was born into a family of western dragons, and his parents were both subjects of that kingdom. But alas, their son annoyed them and they kicked him out, thinking he would die. The reason? He's a weakling, and dragons like that don't deserve to live. But Sekk is of a different opinion, and for him Sam is more dear to him than one can imagine, for in fact they are now father and son by blood. By the way, the words about Farin falling in love with his boyfriend not because he wants to be protected 24/7, but because he just loves his husband, I took from our fox himself, and gave them to his son. So Sam repeats the words of the fox daddy to appease the dragon father. And he's just comparing the two parts of the scene.
That's a cool reason for Sa'mon's growth in strength, that his adopted father Sekk'ral loved him in such a familial, profound manner that Sa'mon was able to realize his true potential as a warrior. It sounds like his family out west were such strict, mean spirited people, that Sa'mon wasn't able to grow and mature properly as a dragon warrior. It sounds like a match made in heaven, with Sekk'ral needing a son to adopt, and Sa'mon being the perfect candidate for it. You could even go as far to say that Sekk'ral 'rescued' Sa'mon from the brutal life of the western clan lands.
This page is just so warm with Sekk hugging Farin and his paw on his pec. I wonder if Farin can hear Sekk'ral's Heartbeat?
I can imagine the anime stomach growl sound when Farin's stomach growled. Boy's got to eat! Now that I think about it, they never got that breakfast!

Sekk'ral does finally admit that he doesn't deserve Farin. So Sekk'ral is indeed quite humble, if anything else. That's likely one of the many things Farin loves about him, so this is very good character development.
That insatiable, dreamily longing look in Sekk'ral's eyes is just perfect, it captures his mood entirely and is extremely believable. Even just hugging Farin is enough to put Sekk'ral into an induced state of euphoria, a contact high, even.
Of course, Farin is returning the favor, equally being in his own level of heaven, being all nestled into Sekk'ral's enormous pectoral muscles. Also, it feels good to hear Farin admit that he knew the risks going in, so he does accept some personal responsibility for the current situation.
I wonder how soon until Farin gets to talk to King Daddy? I'm curious to know how readily and willing Daddy is to accept Farin as his effective son-in-law. And how well they get along, etc. I wonder what Farin will say to him, that will convince Daddy this fox is here to stay.
