More character art from my story "Survivors of a Shattered World", this time belonging to the settlement's resident scientist Mesaklep. Before the Shattering happened, his people (the Thrygilians) had been secretly involved with many of the Council's experiments. Mesaklep was performing his own research trying to figure out exactly what his superiors were up to when he was whisked away into the patchwork world. With all his past research gone, Mesaklep was forced to explore the inner workings of his new world and find an explanation to the Shattering.
Standing above four feet tall, Mesaklep's "tripod" form is quite the oddity compared to most other residents of the patchwork world. But he doesn't let his unusual body plan get in the way of scientific progress.

Wow, he's actually somehow more unsettling looking than the imagined version I had in mind (I think the humanoid torso definitely triggers some uncanny valley vibes from me). I don't know why but I pictured him being more insectoid like, like the Chryssalids from Xcom 2 but slightly less scary.
At least I can sleep at night knowing he is a verifiable dwarf in height.
