D.A.R.Q.U.E. Labs Report - B1-U3 Virus Infectee Observation
The wyvern and the dragon both continued to scribble notes onto their clipboards as the gargantuan blue balloon finally finished swelling on the other side of the observation glass.
"Suit is holding strong," noted Narid, "truly impressive design... Even a subject of that size can be contained with it." Narid jotted down some more observations, noting how the several tube's upon the nanosuit subtly seemed to pulse, undoubtedly flowing with the juice that the gecko inside had been filled to the brim with.
"He's easily our ripest infectee yet," said Ddraig with a brow raised, "look around his navel; it's turned slightly pink. He's quite full."
Narid nodded. Whilst the lizard's muffled moans were drowned out both by his own cacophonous blue body as well as the mask that covered his face, Narid took notice of a strange development surfacing along the lizard's vibrant blue body.
"...hey, look, what's happening there?"
Slowly, but surely, an array of mottled stripes began to fade in along the edges of the massive lizard, each one trailing off before reaching his navel.
"They look like..." Ddraig squinted, confused by the sight.
"The stripes on a watermleon, right?" Narid finished Ddraig's thought, eliciting a nod from the dragon. "Yes, exactly," he said as he continued to jot down notes, "no doubt a result of the infection vector."
He gestured to the half-eaten, slightly blue-tinged watermelon that rested upon a table far in the corner of the test chamber. "Mm... A mutation, it seems." Narid checked a box on his clipboard. "How appropriate that such a kind of mutation would happen to someone named for the fruit, hm?"
"Indeed," Ddraig said as he clicked his pen and slipped it into his coat's pocket. "I think we have all we need. Get that report typed up for the database, and I'll organize storage for our subject."
"Storage, sir?" Narid asked, confused.
"Of course," Ddraig replied as if it were obvious, "we have no way of fixing someone of his size. He'll need to be kept somewhere safe until we have the means. Until then, he's to be considered precious research material. Please make note of this."
"Of course." Narid nodded, taking a seat at his desk and booting up his terminal as Ddraig stepped out, leaving his own notes for Narid to add to the report.
Before he began to type, Narid turned his gaze to the enormous blueberry of a lizard, still encased within the nanosuit. The tubes continued to subtly bulge and pulse as he wobbled atop his groin, his sunken hands feebly flapping every so often. Turning his gaze back to the computer screen, he looked at the gecko's case file photo.
He pondered how the B1-U3 virus was capable of transforming a green lizard, albeit one of impressive girth, into a several-ton, several-foot-wide-and-tall blueberry, filled to the brim with juice that his own body had produced.
"Truly remarkable..."
As a large group of workers entered the chamber, each of them clad in hazmat suits, Narid began to type up the report.
One of the best guys I know,
NaridtheNighthunter, made such a cool concept for these awesome nanosuits, and he decided to use me as not just an example of how one would look when fully ripened, but also to explore how this B1-U3 virus could potentially mutate. It's an excellent piece! And Narid deserves all the love in the world for his work.
