The Broken Gryphon
Amidst the thorns, a sleek gryphon emerges from the shrubbery.
The proud iridescence of his crop seems as if to act as a distraction for his lack of wings, perhaps a form of compensation for such a genetic malfunction.
The beast raises a claw as he surveys the land. The air is still, but one look at him tells you a storm of thought clouds his mind. He doesn’t even seem to acknowledge your presence— who knew such a steady gaze could feel so hollow?
Before you could say anything, the beast slips past the thorns, his ink black feathers melting away into the night.
The communion between yourself and the gryphon was brief, but a feeling tugs at you that this won’t be the last time you see him. Maybe one day you’d be able to pair a name to this creature.
