It's been a while but I revised This prick https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26570106/ fleshed out his tale XD
Magic has always existed in the world—a lingering remnant of ancient, long-dead gods. It was a wondrous force, governed by its own laws and capable of unimaginable feats when wielded by the right hands. Yet, there were always those who sought to exploit this magnificent gift: a nation of sadistic sorcerers, corrupted liches driven by dark ambition, a vain witch who enslaved an entire kingdom out of envy toward her stepdaughter, and countless others who followed in their wake, each worse than the last.
Then came the Iron Bishop—the new bearer of the Nibelung Ring. Clad in armor bestowed by the Lurker at the Threshold, he rose as a dark overlord whose power and influence plunged the continent into a long, bloody war. Ironically, his tyranny united the many peoples and races who had long been divided by conflict and mistrust. Though he was eventually defeated, like all the tyrants before him, his war proved to be the final breaking point. The humans of the world have had enough. The devastation he left behind—ruin, misery, loss, and collective trauma—was so profound that, once the continent recovered, humanity launched a series of brutal crusades against all things magical.
And they were thorough.
Because of these relentless purges, no trace of magic remains in the modern age. The fantastic marvels of yesteryear are lost and forgotten. Magic survives only in secret, taught quietly in hidden schools and underground academies. The magical races—elves, dwarves, and others—were either exterminated or found refuge in distant realms beyond the reach of man.
Thus ends the tale of the Iron Bishop—the fiend who robbed the world of its wonders.
