Linkin Park is the greatest band of the past one hundred and fifty years.
Lady GaGa is a creative force in her own right and has more to contribute to the music world than just showmanship and a meat dress.

Sorry I would have responded sooner but I was at an afterparty with a band after their first gig in their garage for their moms. They mistook my hipster look for pedo so I got arrested because they were ten. You can read the review on my blog but it's a webzone you've never heard of. Bottom line is they are the best band ever and they're breaking up when Tommy leaves for middle school.
Also I love your art still.

If I had more free time and fewer University freakout moments, I might let music matter. As it is I leave that to friends with undamaged hearing like
Roochak.

Music. I am a music geek myself.. And on top of it a Musician..
So if you really are a music geek what Genres do you specialize in?
Just because you call yourself a geek for music, your selection could be narrow. Example I like history though I prefer everything ere to the Renaissance. Anything past that point is rubbish to me.
With music I like Rock, Techno, Some Classical and Jazz, And those are the major families. Don't get me started on sub genres and Sub subs.. Because they branch off everywhere.
Im not a big shot that can spit off each and every band either, but I have a well founded knowledge of the music theory and how to structure a score. I took courses in music theory and appreciation so I am knowledgeable in those areas..
To me what makes a true geek isn't someone who can spit off each band and say "yeah there cool" But someone who can appreciate the music and understand how each score was written and how it all comes together as a whole to form something wonderful.
It takes a hook that will be subtle enough for us not to notice but lures us in to listen, a score that creates tension and unison between notes and resolves it peace fully, something that has an easy movement that pulls us in just to change and exhilarate our minds of how it all ends so brilliantly.
Music is my passion =P And I have been at it for more than 4 years composing, expermenting and mastering the art..

XD Hah ha ha..
A fifth is a chord that is one note over the third. All chords are built on 3's, C,E,G is the C chord and make the third. C,E,G,B makes a Fifth and C,E,G,B,C Makes a Seventh, so on and so forth you can keep counting as high as you want 9th's, 12th's, 15th's XD its crazy ..
A timbre is something that defines a sound, from the pitch and tone to the texture and quality of the sound. Its sorta how a Trumpet or Sax can produce a long solid tone compared to something like a Violin that is composed of several sounds and waves that defines its tone.
Harmony is the unison and the movement between notes. It is what creates the tension and resolve between notes and chords to form a progression in music.
A Harmonic Timbre is the Harmony between the tones and texture in a score..
:P I hope I was educational..
And really 10 years ?? I see more art than music in your galleries. You should upload your music more.
Also I am curious, what do you use to compose your scores? Do you play live? Use software? All my music I compose by playing it on my instruments, From my Juno-G keyboard to my Fender tele.. And then record that on my PC useing Sonar 8..
To many artist (musican artists that is) Used software which I don't like for it sounds unnatural to me and artifical, although its a easy way to produce music I think many lose the true appreciation for music when they are just producing out the wazoo and not even takeing the time to pick up and instrument and actrully work at it and perfect it..
Really makes me sad if they ever do make a great hit for they probally will never be able to actrully play it in a concert. If anything they would have to hire others to or work by selling of all there music to others and how sad is that... ? Its what I call a true sell out..
There are a rare few that do know how to play and instrument and use software to expand there libraries of diffrent sounds though this really only benifits a few genres such as pop, rap, and techno for they are the ones that use alot of synthesisers and it can benifit. Though the true synths still have way more capibilitys, especially the vintage analog synths that are capible of sounds that would brind any music love to tears .. XD I know I own several vinatage synth and I still am finding new sounds with them.. One being my beloved Roland TB-303 :P
If you ever would like to just talk music or learn more, I will be more than happy to chat more with ya.

Don't ask me... My personal "music cutoff" point in time (the point where I lost interest in the music of the day) was the early 90s. So, from there back to the music of Beethoven, Mozart, etc. are the varieties of music that I listen to. Except for opera. Or vocal bluegrass.
