After Abber got "game over'd" after becoming permanently enslaved to the whims of his own hubris in a previous run, he'd be sure to be a bit more careful this time. Steering clear of the slime infested cave- which... was now painfully obvious to be a big red flag- he ventured into a dungeon a ways away, and eventually came across a small jade amulet. Aside from looking rather nice and potentially selling well, it didn't boast any physical nor magical protection, at least until he settled down in a nearby town temporarily and had the trinket identified by a skilled enchantress. Indeed, the amulet seemed to not hold much more than value, spare for one thing- heightened psionic resistance. Abber's mind immediately rushed back to the cursed gauntlet that had ended him previously. It was just his luck, nor was it not long until he found himself back at the mouth of the mucus- ridden cave. He now had innate knowledge of the cave's layout, and was able to snatch the gauntlet without much fuss. Although, he could almost feel as if he was being watched most of the time within, from a presence that felt too eerily familiar...
...Nevertheless, Abber slipped on the gauntlet a second time, the slime, sure enough, spreading out across his arm, but it ended up stopping shortly after it reached his breastplate, the malleable power the gauntlet promised only growing, now seemingly without any cost. With the amulet on, he no longer felt light taps at the back of his mind, nor very distant ringing that slowly wore down his mental state, of which let the influence of the accursed artifact in- details he wasn't entirely aware of in his previous life. Oh well, as long as he kept the amulet on, things would be fine.
...This amulet is starting to feel itchy, though...
