The day was growing old, with the new year just around the corner. Inside his little cabin, the snow leopard tugged on his reindeer outfit, a small grin on his face. It was a special night, one he’d be spending with some of his favorite people. Once he was ready, Lapis stepped outside into the calm, snowy evening. The dirt path stretched ahead, quiet and peaceful under the soft glow of winter skies. He strolled along, the crisp air nipping at his fur, making his way toward the meetup spot. It didn’t take long before he spotted them. Biff and Sim were already there, standing together in the snow. As Lapis got closer, they waved with big, friendly smiles and cheerful greetings.
Sim grabbed a sparkler from a little bundle nearby and lit it, the tiny flame crackling to life. He reached around Biff’s right side, raising it high above them. Without missing a beat, Biff pulled Lapis in close with a playful grin, while Sim clung to Biff’s left arm. The three of them stood there for a while, watching the sparkler burn bright against the night sky. It was simple, but perfect. A small, glowing moment as the year quietly slipped into the next, setting the tone for what felt like the start of something good.
