My attempt at this week's Thursday Prompt. This week, the word for the prompt was "spending".
As usual, please be sure to check
ThursdayPrompt for more.
My thought process for this one was 'spending time together' as opposed to spending money. Not too sure if I really managed that here but I gave it a go. Took much longer than it should, just wasn't really up for much of anything but I think that's passed now.

I'm grateful to hear you thought it came out well, I honestly was a bit unsure on this especially nearing the end. I'm hoping I can keep up that sort of feel with this one while not going off the rails into the realm of absurdity, I feel that might be a very real possibility here if I'm not careful.
It means a lot that you take the time for this one, thanks much for giving it a read.

Ooh, very spooky, there's a lot of questions here! I definitely thought of spending "time" instead of "money" as well
I read through the other Draubin's Calling stories and I just gotta say, one of these people isn't real. I don't know which one; there's a compelling case to be made for all of them. If that's not it, then one of them has been possessed or something similar. Since we only have Noah's perspective, it's difficult to tell what's actually happening. Is it him? Is it Todd? What happened to Lilly? Agh XD
Also, I have recently learned that hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol are actually not recommended for cleaning wounds because they damage healthy tissue too. I grew up using that stuff all the time, so I was shocked :O

I'm absolutely thrilled to hear you took the time for the rest of this one's segments! You really didn't have to go and do that if you didn't want to / didn't have the time for it, but it certainly does mean a lot to me! I will just go ahead and say you are definitely on to something with your hypothesis though I won't reveal anymore than that or else I'll wind up spoiling the rest.
I did actually look up to check if I was thinking about it right when writing this and found out the same thing. I decided to just roll with Todd using hydrogen peroxide as a disinfectant because that's just what I'd use as a kid when I got scrapes and cuts. Different times, I suppose.
I'm very much grateful that you'd take the time for this one, really means a lot.

Well, you know, if I didn't want to, I wouldn't have done it, right? Definitely excited to see what happens next for Noah and the gang, though please don't take this as me pressuring you to write more. Creativity is a fickle thing, after all, it comes and goes as it pleases :d
Oh shoot, did I get 'wolves = canines' wrong? I know I looked up the goat being a member of the bovidae family for the first segment of this one and I think that one works but you could very easily convince me I messed both of these up here. Well, it is what it is, I suppose.
Regardless, I do very much appreciate you having taken the time to read over this mess, thanks much for that.

For some reason, I get the impression that this is occurring sometime in the seventies or eighties. A time when cell phones would have been absent or an expensive luxury most people wouldn't have. A time where remote cabins wouldn't have house phones. Pretty entertaining, thanks for sharing.
Well, he does have a hand held radio for reaching his friends. Admittedly, I hadn't actually even considered cell phones for this one. I'd probably just contrive a reason for them to not be working anyways: "Oh no... uh... t-the service here is just one bar!"
It means a lot that you would take the time to go over this one, very much grateful for that.

There's a great deal of description of small details... mannerisms and small actions taken by the individual characters that extend this out in a way that makes time pass a little more realistically here. This is a scene that could have very easily been a page or two long, but it's really better in this case that it was drawn out a bit like it was.
The idea of time seemingly running slow at the beginning set the stage for that technique nicely... even if perhaps it had been unintentional.

It's those small details I hope I'm able to build up for later in this one but at the same time I can't help but feel that I probably could have approached that better. Subtlety isn't exactly a strength of mine so the big reveal will probably be less "what a twist" and more "yeah, kinda figured".
Regardless, I do very much appreciate you having taken the time to come back for this one, really means a lot.
