The avian gouges at the ground beneath him, the commotion of his wake sending flocks of birds fleeing for the sky above.
He still doesn’t seem to notice your presence, but you’re not going to wait around to find out for certain. With one final look behind your shoulder, you see moonlight glint against the enamel of his teeth.
