"Ooh, is that for me?!" Whisper happily exclaimed, with a child-like smile. You held out a big bouquet of daisies, balloons, and a bag full of her favorite treat, taiyaki, for her-
She immediately reached for the bag of taiyaki and popped one in her mouth, happily wagging.
Oh. She just wanted the food: of course. You let out a dejected sigh, even though part of you was not really surprised by that.
"But what about this...?" You pointed at her other gifts, blinking at how quickly she wolfed down the food. With her mouth full, she looked over her other gifts, "Arigatou gozaimasu...you ready to go now?"
With a nod, you reached for her hand, which she immediately batted away and gave you a look-
"I'm sorry! I was going to take your stuff and hold it for you!"
(That was a lie, but you needed a cover to make her feel a little bad for shooing you away).
Twitching her ears in thought, she gave you a playful smack with her tail and nudged you forward- you assume that was her way of apologizing?
"So, tell me, how exactly do you plan on impressing me today?"
"Well, I thought we could go to that café by the river in Kyoto. The one with the view of the temples? It is supposed to be peaceful, and it has a gorgeous view of the cherry blossom trees blooming! Then we can go for a walk afterwards-"
"Walk...?" She stopped in her tracks and quizzically tilted her head at you. What was wrong with a walk?! It seemed like a nice way to end a date and get to know each other better. That is until you remembered she was a gymrat-
"Or...we can go for a jog...you know, to burn off the dinner. Okay fine: hike. We can go for a nice hike, then eat." That seemed to perk her up as she sped up her pace, happily munching on another taiyaki as she asked you what your favorite gym day is, what type of exercises you enjoyed, favorite gym machine, how much protein you got in a day...
You realized you might have gotten in too deep and she might kill you just from wanting trying to exercise with her- simple date indeed!
Then again, it wasn't everyday you got a rare date with the lyolf; damn right you went all out to make her happy! Even if it may jeopardize your health and well-being.

...it's because she's doing one of her favorite things: eating, haha. Also, thoughts and prayers to the brave soul that is taking her out on a date; if she doesn't wipe his wallet clean from the dinner he is paying for, he is probably going to pass out on the hike. It's fine.
