Cuojue Jiezhi - The White Ring of Illusions
Cuòjué Jièzhǐ (錯覺戒指) is the white ring on Shàonǚ's left pinky finger. Forged from the shell fragment of a turtle dragon from the Yangtze, Cuòjué allows Shàonǚ to project illusions to confuse and deceive opponents. Ranging from small misdirection to elaborate facades, the sorceress is able to use the power of illusion to disguise herself, objects, and trigger hallucinations in others. To the untrained eye, her illusions are so convincing that the target can be tricked into believing that they can also smell, taste, touch, and hear whatever the mouse makes them see.
The illusions are not physical and cannot directly affect the target's physical body, but "mind over matter" psychosomatic conditioning can be reinforced through clever stagecraft and even mystical potions. Those possessing more acute senses, ranging from well-trained mortals to beings gifted with heightened or extra-sensory perception require more powerful illusions and manipulation. Against the wrong target, this ability can fail entirely. Unless you're a gifted individual, Shàonǚ is an exception to "what you see is what you get."
