Tide had a very average life. He graduated high school and began attending college, but dropped out part way through. He eventually got a job at a retail management firm and worked his way up to a decent position, though he never really enjoyed the work. Tide lived alone, hanging out with his coworkers on occasion and wishing he had kept up with his studies.
He boarded the ill-fated flight when heading back to his coastal home from a work retreat. His coworkers had planned to meet up for bowling when he arrived, which was at least something he could look forward to. Otherwise the flight was rather boring, Gully’s jokes not even enough to lift his spirits. His boredom would quickly be quelled though when the plane flew into a field of distorted reality, and his entire being was forever changed.
At first, Tide had a somewhat defeatist attitude to being one of Auburn’s toys, figuring that this was just his life now and there was nothing he could do to improve his situation. To his surprise, though, he eventually came to enjoy being a toy. Auburn’s imagination was way more interesting than his prior life had been! Though, he was always a bit disappointed about missing out on that bowling meetup.

A very quick ref I did for a character I brainstormed for a story idea WholesomelyChaotic and I have been brainstorming together for a bit. Tide was the first character I brainstormed for it!
