In the early days after being cursed into a dog, Mina encouraged Eduardo to socialize with Joey the Werewolf so they could get to know each other. Eduardo had never been a people person before—only worked with others when necessary to complete a task. Not only working with a werewolf but actually making connections with him was completely out of his comfort zone. He was scared, with so many "what-ifs" running through his head. What if Joey killed him? What if he got bitten and became a werewolf too?

Seeing the newly cursed man shaking with fear, Joey did his best to ease all of Eduardo's worries and took him to a secret spot in the woods only he and Mina knows about—a small hidden lake. It is where both Joey and Eduardo would transform into their respective forms and talk freely to one another. They would talk about their days, how they feel about things, or what they’re excited or worried about. One night, when Eduardo expressed concern about people discovering them, Joey reassured him that he was safe in his company. With each night by the lake, the two grew closer and began to trust each other, just as Mina had planned.

Nowadays, Eduardo and Joey like to chat casually about everything—from Eduardo’s attempts to try new recipes to Joey’s love of cheesy horror movies.
