A Primitive Etiquette

A few problems are related to this drawing.
The first problem, a naive one, is the question of whether the person in the drawing is a "bird" or a "dog". He looks (partly) birdlike, but his speech is doglike in nature. This problem of identity occurs not only in the issue of species, but also age, as such a "furry shota" picture shows an underaged individual along with commentary saying that s/he is an adult.
The second problem, a more important one, is the question of whether the person is a human, animal or plant (or all of them). Though his head is of a bird, his body is a human, and though "BARK" is related to the barking of a dog, it is a human word. "BARK" is fundamentally different from "WOOF", since a dog will not utter "BARK". Simultaneously, "BARK" means the skin of a tree and introduces the element of plant life into the drawing's subject (aside from the patterns on his shirt).

I have been voraciously eating up literature on Magritte and the Surrealist movement, and seem to be in a meditative and analytical mood. This is possibly the first of a few "problem pictures".
Thanks also to
pearbear, since this was actually inspired by something he doodled.
