uuuh you know shard is a pen&paper game(like dungeons&dragons, the dark eye ect.). you only need the basic compendium to play which is about 20 bucks. for additional stuff you can buy other books (who are currently under donstruction) but you only need your head, imagination, a character and a group to play so no it is not really for free but it is pretty cheap for an RPG.
