How I Say Goodbye
By Nuallán,
As autumn turns to winter,
and as naivete fades.
A farewell to innocence,
from cradle to the grave.
As fires grow cold,
and the hearth grows still.
As tears long since dried,
to the songs of whippoorwills.
Alone and silent,
are scholars betrayed.
Bereft by a world,
for words hadn't swayed.
As fires grow cold,
and the hearth grows still.
As tears long since dried,
to the songs of whippoorwills.
Bonds cast in gemstones,
quietly doth fade.
All had taken and left,
never would have stayed.
As fires grow cold,
and the hearth grows still.
As tears long since dried,
to the songs of whippoorwills.
