Not all of Henry's world is deserts and desperados.
Keravnopolis—or "Thunderbolt City"—is the capital of the Appalachian Union, a technologically sophisticated empire of saurians whose airships, skyscrapers, and near constant rainstorms stand in sharp contrast to the parched, primitive and sparsely settled New Laramidia. Between them sits the Great Interior Basin: a desolate land crossed only by those desperate to escape the east or those rich enough to travel in comfort.
And there are plenty desperate to escape. The "Appalachs" inhabit a civilization well past its prime. Rising pollution, dwindling food stocks and skyrocketing inequality are causing many of their citizens to consider packing up and daring the crossing. The well-heeled in Keravnopolis who pass between the rooftops in their dirigibles see none of the misery on the ground that their "economic dynamism" has wrought.
Dinosaurs, in general, are not known for their charitable nature.
But Henry was more independently minded than his fellows from an early age. Do we see him here visiting a land foreign to him? Or was this before he made his own crossing?
Does the raptor beggar he's assisting remind him of someone? Or did that raptor remind him of this encounter?

Much before...or after the Henry we got to know....hmmmmm....
You could tell I'm cheating here for the stuff I-do-know, but I'll dare to say this got to be -before-, but I'm basing this opinion totally on the fact that this Henry looks skinner, and therefore, younger!
