Here it is part 2 of Sally's story of becoming a blueberry lady for the first time.
A few weeks had passed since Sally saw on the television the woman who had been turned into a blueberry and things have been different since then for the she-wolf. Usually always focused on her work as a maid at Lakeview Manor, Sally had been distracted as of late. She could not get the image of the blueberry woman out of her head no matter what she did. She could be dusting the rooms of the manor or helping Hazel with cleaning dishes after one of Hugo's meals when that image of the large blue woman would come rushing back to her, giving her the same feelings as before. This would cause her to sometimes fumble whatever task she was doing and thus frustrating herself in the process. Once when she went to eat her favourite fruit which, funny enough was blueberries, these feelings amplified to such an extent that she blushed red hot and had to rush herself outside to collect herself and cool off. This was not like her at all and she sure knew it. These feelings of excitement, want and dare she admit arousal when she thought of the blueberry woman scared the maid a bit. Sally always thought of herself as a rather basic and even dull lady. Having become a maid as a young lady who has worked at many manors before working at Lakeview, she never really did what others would consider fun or interesting and she was content with that though now it seems that might change.
This change in Sally's behaviour did not go unnoticed in the manor. Hugo was the first to ask Sally, since for as long he had known her, he had never seen her act like this and so was concerned for his trusted maid. He asked her calmly and gently, as any good gentleman would, and although she wanted to tell him, since she knew Hugo to be quite the understanding type of person, she simply could not do so. After what he saw on Dancer's tour and how he reacted to it, Sally didn't want to risk bringing up any bad memories for the young duke and so calmly insisted that she was fine and that she hoped she didn't bring any stress on him. Hugo didn't push any further since he could sense that whatever was bothering her must be quite personal and so, respecting her wishes, decided to leave it at that.
Hazel was a lot more blunt when asking Sally what was bothering her. They were both cleaning dishes when the memory of the blueberry woman flashed back into Sally's mind, which caused her to lose focus and drop a plate with profanities following shortly afterwards. This wasn't the first time Hazel had seen Sally do something like this and so at that moment, Hazel asked Sally what was eating her up so much as of recent. Now Hazel isn't a mean lady by any means, but she is the type of person who doesn't take most things seriously and Sally thought sharing this rather personal matter with her might not be the wisest choice on her part, and so Sally sternly replied to Hazel's question, telling her that there is nothing wrong and that she had nothing to worrying about. Knowing that asking further would probably anger the she-wolf, Hazel left this matter alone and carried on with her work.
Arlo knew why Sally's behaviour had changed as of recent, why she had been getting flustered and distracted. He had decided not to bring it up with her as soon as he knew, since he thought she would move on from it by now, but it seems that wasn't the case. Arlo isn't usually the type to involve himself in the affairs of others, as he prefers to keep to himself as he did when he wandered the countryside for who knows how long, but things are different now, and it seems that with regards to Sally, he will make an exception. Most of his interactions with Sally were usually her passing on a message from Hugo or having a go at him about how he conducts himself, with such examples being that he prefers to bathe in the lake rather than a bath or his refusal to use cutlery and so forth. While he found these complaints from the she-wolf to be a little bothersome, he could tell that they were from a good place and that she was only trying to help him even if he didn’t need it, so now it was his time to return the gesture.
Having grown a few blueberries in his own little personal garden from his small cottage on the edge of the estate next to the woods, Arlo picked one up and then made his way to the manor. After saying hello to Hugo, who was enjoying a midday meal, Arlo asked the tubby duke if he knew where Sally was, to which the fat cat replied that she was upstairs the last time he saw her and so there Arlo went. It didn’t take the badger too long to find Sally as he managed to find her as she made her way down the hall to go and do another chore. He asked if he could have a word with her, to which she agreed due to intrigue, since this was the first time he had started a conversation.
Now, with her full attention, Arlo revealed to Sally that he knew what was causing her to act so differently and that he knew a way to help her if she wanted. Her blush appearing once again, she knew she couldn’t lie to Arlo because he has a knack for seeing through that sort of thing, so she tried to stern her voice and asked him how he could help with her supposed problem. Arlo reached into his pocket and held up a blueberry.
“This blueberry is infused with my magic. Once eaten, its juices will flow through your body like water flows in a river. You have seen me make all sorts of plants bigger and smaller with my magic and if you were to eat this blueberry I could from there have you take on the characteristics of blueberries. Basically, Sally, I can turn you into a blueberry lady, but only if you want me to, and before you ask, unlike that woman from the tour, you can turn back to normal whenever you wish.”
Sally was speechless. She could not believe her ears, she was being given an opportunity like no other. The conflict in her mind had risen to a level like no other, and for a good minute or two she just stared at the blueberry intensely, thinking should she go through with this offer? Perhaps she could get over those thoughts she had been having about blueberries and things would be normal like before, but there was no way of knowing for sure that would happen. But she knows now that change can happen to her if she wishes it so. To experience herself change in a way like no other, feeling her own body filled with the juice of a blueberry and said juice changing the very shape of her being. Could this truly be what she was missing in her life? There was only one way to find out.
Finally Sally spoke up and tried to keep her reply brief, “I appreciate the offer Arlo, truly…. But could I be given some time before I make a decision on this ummm offer of yours?” She asked.
“Sure thing, there’s no rush. When you have decided what you want to do, you know where to find me,” Arlo replied.
“Thank you,” Sally said finally exhaling in relief.
And so Arlo headed back to his cottage and Sally went back to doing her chores around the manor, but now with the knowledge that she could become a blueberry lady if she so desires.
