John and Rosa reunited with their dragon pal when he transfers at their school and meets their friends, but the reunion becomes sour when the school receives funding to hold a peewee football practice courtesy of Xan's parents. This only draws unwanted attention from the students, particularly the middle schoolers, blaming the pack for the misfortune of having to exercise. It doesn't quite get bad as for them as they met a friend that happens to be well-acquainted with John's parents while the he and his friends figure out to use to their weight to survive peewee football.
