Lez see... I think I just strait up used a soft brush (one with really fuzzy edges) and just did a quick swipe on a layer above the base colors.
For good shading you'd do that multiple times starting with real low opacity and a big brush, then get smaller and smaller strips with more opacity as you get closer to the source of the light
