Here we have my baby, after I made a silencer to shut her up... actually kinda novel, when I was moving last time my entertainment center broke two of the legs. They were made of plastic, had threaded caps at each end, one male, one female... the male cap broke off, leaving a hole in the middle of the flat end...and the female cap goes straight through anyway. so a little whittling away at the inside of the hollow male cap, and it stretches over the barrel cap of my pistol. some superglue and a little hole drilled out, now I have a silencer attachment for my airsoft that doesn't actually impede its firing ability (although now I have to get some red paint to make sure people don't freak out

that implies that NOTHING does the job, because all the red plastic is is a colored barrel tip that says "hey, hey, attention here, i'm letting you know this is just a toy" which is what the red paint would do, painting the plastic end of my silencer (and the threading I put on the barrel) would draw attention to it... although with the fact that I engineered it to not impede shooting ability, I intend to get a small plastic plug to put in it as well... so maybe a red plastic plug too...
besides, the fact remains that...if there is EVER a doubt or question, an officer SHOULD investigate a subject, whether they "see red" or not... christ, I left the top half of the magazine unpainted so I could eject it and end that kind of confusion immediately...that and of course, I'm building this with the expectation that if I use it, it will be for a convention costume, of which I saw multiple people at AC with prop guns, and nobody questioned them...

its perfectly safe, its just an airsoft pistol, the worst thing that could happen is the open air environment of the "silencer" makes the pellet ricochet around inside, which would be inconvenient yes but as I said in my phase 1 pic, I don't even play airsoft so this really will be nothing but a prop pistol ^_^ that and of course I have a very nice engineering mind, I know that there are very strict tolerances to the manufacture of real ones, and would only purchase one from a reputable manufacturer...
