Who knows why we delay things. Maybe we aren't happy with the process or other minor problems keep being found which make us delay things. Runefang has always been my main OC, even if Keathatah has become more of a focus to me over the years. Even still, the fact that I delayed this long for a true and proper reference, well it astounds me.

Thankfully, I found someone who understood my desires for his design very well. Go give  Punkcroc a watch if you like his style. They're a great person to work with and they captured Rune's height and width very well.

Runefang is inspired by larger than life heroes and protagonist. I always loved watching characters like Master Chief, Kratos, Doom Guy just going around and kicking ass and taking names. So that is what Runefang became. A fierce warrior who fights evil and disdains bullshit. He is the son of Keathatah Vanguard and Vienurath.

Part of why he is so much bigger than other drakhen is due to his heritage. Keathatah is tall for her kind as well, but this is just a luck of the draw of her genetics. However with Runefang, his fathers celestial blood enhanced him to a demiurge status. Although Vienurath feared that other dark creatures would hunt his son and kill him, so he tried to stun his sons connection with the sources. He was certain that the gates would reopen for his son once he matured and could then protect himself. Sadly that did not go as planned, and Rune was forced to adapt to his less magical nature by growing stronger through his anger and pure determination to grow. This gave him an amazing chance to keep testing himself against the odds.

Eventually Runefang's magic does come back to him, and when it does he will discover his true potential and his father's true identity. His destiny, to seek out vile foes, and to protect the lesser folk who cannot defend themselves against such tyranny.
