She popped up in a couple of my works already, so I think it's about time you've met Warden Beatrix — A stern authority figure from the Sol Kingdom, the lady in charge of their very own Prison Island, The Hive.

The Tarantula Hawk is a fierce warrior, a high-ranking member of the Kingdom's military, one dedicated to cleansing the oceans of Sol from pirate filth. Under Blaze's rule, she's relegated to managing a prison. The two don't see eye to eye, but Beatrix still holds some influence over the young princess, being an authority figure in her life.

If Gardon, Blaze's advisor, could be considered the angel on the monarch's shoulder, Beatrix is the devil. She wants Sol to go back to its old, isolationist ways, believes the land has to be ruled with an iron fist and will cross any line to ensure her way is the only way.

I've been looking into expanding Sol's role in my writing and, naturally, that called for a hierarchy that's a bit more fleshed out than the one we're used to. And so here we are. Warden Beatrix represents unwavering authority. She opposes the pirate rabble like Siren and her crew... and, while she's technically one of the "good guys", she stays in the grey area of morality.
