A keen eye for details and being good at reading people are both good qualities to have for a city gate guard. And it seems that Raketh possesses both of them because he certainly didn't miss the furtive glances I casted at his paws and how my body language changed in his presence.
One day, when I showed up at the gate as usual to get access to the city to sell my wares, he pulled me aside for a “routine inspection”. And when he ordered me to sit down and then shoved his big dragon paw on my face, I quickly realised that I was the one who would have carried the inspection and that I hadn’t been as good as I thought at hiding my interest towards his paws during my trips to the city..
